1. What happens in the event of bad weather?
The scavenger hunt will take place rain or shine. Bring umbrellas if the forecast looks questionable and come with a good attitude. If you decide not to attend, please mail all pledges to Hunt for a Cure, Inc. 10 Harris Street, #3, Boston, MA 02109 with your name, address and phone number so we may contact you with questions.
2. Where do I park?
There are a few parking lots within a 5-minute walk from Langone Park. Parking is approximately $12/day. Please see map for nearby garage locations.
3. What areas of the city does the scavenger hunt encompass?
The scavenger hunt is broken down into 4 main locations: Beacon Hill, Faneuil Hall/Government Center, North End and Back Bay. Within each section you will be asked to answer trivia, take pictures of particular items/locations, and collect small trinkets along the way.
(If you have a digital camera please bring to the event. Otherwise, we will give you a Polaroid to use for the day.)
4. What is the objective of the scavenger hunt?
The team with the most points wins. All trivia, pictures, etc. are assigned a point value. Your team can focus on all small, easy point items or go for just a handful of higher point items. It's all about strategy. Along the way, we ask that you wear your Hunt for a Cure t-shirt and let people know what you are doing.
5. How do I get around the city?
The most popular mode of transportation will be on foot, so wear your walking shoes. Some people may choose to ride bikes, take cabs or use the T. All are welcome however driving personal automobiles is prohibited.
6. 12:30 - 5:30pm is a long time. What happens if I can't stay that long?
We allow each team 3.5 hours to complete the hunt. Once all 4 team members have registered and turned in their pledges, we will discharge you with the items list. If you finish in less than 3.5 hours come back to Langone Park and turn in your collected items along with the point list. We will tally up the points and notify you if your team won.
7. Can I bring my son/daughter along?
We encourage families to participate together. However, please understand this is a long day and very young children might not want to race through the city. If you choose to include your children, please bring a stroller along so you can enjoy the day.
